“For every business owner, we all look at cost versus return. PhotoBiz* is BY far the best investment I have [made]. Not only do I have the best-looking, highest ranking [website] on Google in my area, I also have plenty of work due to my website. I would be willing to bet I pay the best price. It’s a no-brainer,” says Denny Young, owner of DJ Powder Coating. “PhotoBiz enabled us to create our own website with great marketing results.” The company has been working with PhotoBiz (our platform for professional photographers) since 2012 to create websites for their business.
*Companies like DJ Powder Coating helped inspire Zibster. DJ Powder Coating has been our client since before Zibster existed, which is why they are on the PhotoBiz platform, but the business fits our Zibster customer profile, which is why we are highlighting it on Zibster.
So what is powder coating? “Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder to a wide range of materials and products that are used by various industries and consumers,” says Denny. It can be used on parts made from aluminum, steel, brass, copper, bronze, and titanium. “All metal objects that have an electrostatic charge and can withstand 400°F can be powder coated,” he says.
Denny started powder coating at just 14-years-old when he was racing ATVs nationally. He coated his ATV and those of his friends. As a high school senior, he forged a beautiful iron mailbox stand. Denny started DJ Powder Coating in his dad’s backyard and came up with the name by using the first letter of his name and the first letter of his dad’s name, Joe.
So why powder coating? Denny and his team say it’s economical, long-lasting, and color-durable. It is more resistant than other finishes to chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing. And, it’s more environmentally friendly. Denny says that’s because powder coating uses virtually no emissions, solvents, or hazardous wastes. “For 30 years, powder coating has been the finish of choice for a superior, more colorful, longer lasting, and more durable finish,” says Denny. His company specializes in professional powder coating for the metal fabrication industry, as well as custom powder coating for industrial, retail, manufacturing, household, motorsports, and recreation industries.
Denny and his crew offer patina powder coat designs as well, which are more than just a one coat powder application. “What we offer is a realistic distressed effect that is safer to apply than a living finish and can outlast any painted surface. It is a non-traditional method of application in combination with a specific color palette that delivers the durability and longevity the powder coating industry has come to expect,” he says. “Our distressed powder effects mimic traditional liquid & chemical looks without all the headaches of achieving them.”
Denny says PhotoBiz has helped his company in many ways. He likes the one-stop-shop of an easy-to-build website that comes with “web hosting, Google Analytics, and more!” Denny continues, “PhotoBiz is incredibly easy to use and [you can] create a very professional website without all the hassle and expense of a professional website designer.”
He also appreciates the Passionate Support Team and the SEO assistance he receives. Since he started his website with PhotoBiz in 2012, “I am still #1 maybe 2 on Google search for powder coating without paying any Google ads or additional costs.”
“PhotoBiz is so simple and allows me to just change something how I want. It doesn’t come with any extra drama. All small business owners should understand the value of less drama,” Denny says.
