A few weeks ago Michael King at 1311art.com submitted three art works to the Bedford VA local competition for the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival and Competition. He found out today that all three pieces are moving into the National show. The results should be out in late April.
“If any of my pieces are selected for first place, I will be taking a trip to Des Moines, Iowa for the festival exhibition.” Michael said.” Needless to say, I’m excited. Thank you to everyone that keeps me inspired and motivated.”
2018 NATIONAL VETERANS
CREATIVE ARTS COMPETITION
Nationwide, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities use the creative arts as one form of rehabilitative treatment to help Veterans recover from and cope with physical and emotional disabilities. Across the country each year, Veterans enrolled at VA health care facilities compete in a local creative arts competition.
The competition includes 51 categories in the visual arts division that range from oil painting to leatherwork to paint-by-number kits. In addition, there are 100 categories in the performing arts pertaining to all aspects of music, dance, drama and creative writing. Through a national judging process, first, second and third place entries in each category are determined.
Michael signed up with Zibster in January 2017 and recently updated his site to the all new "Hemingway" template on our Builder 2.0. It has been great working with him this past year, and we hope to hear some more good news shortly!
